~*Cricut Software*~

I hope you had a GREAT weekend!  I enjoyed a crop Friday night with an old friend and the rest of the weekend with family.  I have had several people ask me about the Cricut software programs.  Although I have a Silhouette, I have done some research on the Cricut software.

The Cricut Company has a software program called "Cricut Design Studio".  This software allows you to see your cuts on your computer using the cartridges that you already have.
To learn more visit their website: http://www.cricut.com/cds/

A snapshot of the Cricut Design Studio software:

The next software is the "Sure Cuts a Lot" Program which is "an extremely easy program to allow you to cut your True Type fonts and various shapes on your CricutTM Machine. With the combination of using your Fonts. importing custom artwork and drawing your own shapes, the possibilities are endless!" With this program you NO LONGER HAVE TO BUY CARTRIDGES!!
Here's a screenshot of the software program:
You can get more information and purchase the software at http://www.scrappingtable.com/
Here's a video to show you more about the Sure Cuts a Lot program:

Lastly, there is also another program called "Make The Cut." This program is similar to the Sure Cuts A Lot software in that you don't have to purchase cartridges.  The website blurb: " Make The Cut! allows you to easily cut virtually any shape you can imagine (including TrueType Fonts) using your personal cutting machine without needing to purchase extra cartridges."

I hope this helps all those of you with the Cricut.  If you don't have an electronic cutter, I have a Silhouette and LOVE it!!  I couldn't do half my crafts without it!!  It allows you to create using true type fonts on your computer and no cartridges are involved.

Door Prize Jars for Diabetes

Hello!!  I hope you had a GREAT day!  My friend and I made these jars to be door prizes at the American Diabetes Association's Step Out Walk team captains meeting.  They were SO much fun to make and SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE! We had a great time.  They all have the same logo, but the filled ones are hard to see.  Hope you enjoy!!~~

*Painting*

I absolutely LOVE THIS FISH!! :) It just sits on my wall and smiles, and doesn't have to be fed or tended to :).   I went to a Paint N' Pour workshop this summer and this is the result.  I have NEVER painted anything freehanded before this, so keep that in mind.  Hope it brings the same smile to your face that it does mine!!

Stop Diabetes Door Prize

Hello!!  Tomorrow I am speaking at a Choose To Live program for the American Diabetes Association in Baton Rouge.  I wanted to make it a little more "fun" and add a few door prizes.  You know I just HAD to make one of the door prizes myself. :)  I used the official "Stop Diabetes" logo to make a vinyl stencil to etch my project.  Here's how it turned out:   Hope you enjoy!  If you are in Baton Rouge and would like to participate in the Step Out: Fighting Diabetes Walk just visit our website: Team Rx Step Out Link to donate or join our team!!

*Back To School Crafts*

Thank goodness its not me!  :) However, my sweet sister-in-law in dental hygiene needed me to make a few things for her "little sis".  This post goes to prove that vinyl makes EVERYTHING better!!

First, an A for the outside of her locker.

A hand mirror for her patients to see their sparkly clean teeth. :)

A box to keep all her tools and gadgets together.

Hope you enjoyed these new projects!!  Hopefully the weekend will allow a LITTLE creativity time!!

Finally Back after NO INTERNET!

You read it right- NO INTERNET... it was AWEFUL... almost as bad as the 1.5 hour conversation with someone in India... but no worries I once again have internet.  So- I will do several updates in this one post.  Where to begin....

The bread disaster...  Well, I have been waiting and waiting for the perfect opportunity to bake this braided loaf- and I finally decided over the weekend to make it for a friend.  Well, if looks were everything it would have been a success... However, it was NOT as good as it looks- But Betty Crocker doesn't care about tastes, right?  oh well they will still be fun to scrap!  Maybe next time it will be better and I can actually SHARE :)

I had started this layout with a friend a couple weeks ago and didn't get to finish it.  Finally, with no internet to distract me, I FINISHED!  This was an amazing day- I had been looking and looking for some wooden earrings- and one day my grandfather said we would just make some in his wood shop.  It was amazing to create something so pretty from a scrap of wood.  His craftsmanship is truly amazing!

So... I'm not sure why BLogger loaded these sideways... and I can't get them to rotate- So sorry!!

Last thing-so since the bread was a bust, I decided to just make a card instead.  I used the left over paper from the layout.  I had so much fun making the first card, I made several using the scraps.  It was a good, relaxing project!

A Few of My Favorite Things

Since this is my first official blog day, I have a lot of pictures to upload at once... so here goes:

I absolutely LOVE my silhouette!  I use it to do a GOOD bit of crafting. I used it to create the following items:
This is actually my friend Cheryl's kitchen.  Isn't her husband's original artwork beautiful?  We used her silhouette and vinyl to create this customized kitchen decor.... hanging it was a chore :)

I made this frame using vinyl and some sassy scrapbook paper.  I love love love it!!

So sorry about the sideways.... I made this sign as a gift for a friend.  Very quick and easy with my trusty silhouette.

Well, that's all for day one!!

First Blog EVER!!

Hello!  I can't believe I'm actually blogging!  I'm super excited to have a place to share my scrapbook and creative adventures and learn from others.  I have been in school for a while and have had to put scrapbooking on the back burner- but now... IT'S SCRAPBOOK TIME!

I will add a few pictures of my work later today.
